I hope this message finds you well. I would like to take a moment to provide you with a brief update on our mobile app and website plans. Regrettably, I must inform you that the completion of the new website and the rollout of the anticipated features to the app have been delayed. Unforeseen circumstances have arisen, impeding our progress and necessitating the rescheduling of these updates to the latter part of 2023. Rest assured, however, that work on the new website is actively underway, with continuous efforts being made whenever possible. As for the app updates, we anticipate their release either later this summer or in the fall.
Thank you for your understanding and patience throughout this process. We have been thrilled to witness the growing number of thru-hikers utilizing our app. In light of recent inquiries regarding privacy, I am pleased to inform you that we are in the process of implementing additional settings. These settings will grant you greater control over which information you choose to make public. Additionally, we have contemplated an idea pertaining to the GPS feature, specifically concerning the delay in posting entries on the map. The purpose of this delay is to ensure that your current location is not revealed. We are considering offering multiple options for delaying the publication of entries, such as 1, 2, or 3 days after approval, as well as a random number of days.
If this concept aligns with your preferences, I kindly request that you contact us at support@thrutracker.com. We would greatly appreciate any suggestions you may have to enhance both the website and the mobile app.
Once again, thank you for your continued support and understanding. Wishing you a splendid day, week, month, and year ahead!
Happy hiking!
