Today we wanted to aim for 15 miles, now there was starting to be less snow and Marcus was getting used to the trail we could creep up the mileage a bit. The morning consisted of on and of snow patches, some lovely flowers meadows filled of yellow flowers (mules ear) and blue lupine. We took lunch sat on the path as It Was so quiet and w/e found a great spot with an amazing view over the valley and out towards the lake. Shortly after we had an 8 mile water carry up a hill to a ridge walk. We would have to camp up on the ridge without water to hit 15 miles so we decided we would push on to try and get down to the next river just over 17 miles. The ridge walk was beautiful and we got a nice breeze. We meet a Scottish guy called iMac who had cone out to finish what he hasn't done off the PCT last year, he was a retired vet and told U.S. some odd stories about the student vets and the games they would play. Marcus started to get pretty tired with the longer mile day. The descent down from the ridge was frustrating as it was in the trees and therefore covered in snow. The snow had the ability to almost bring me to tears now after being so fed up with it. We set up camp down by a river, the mozzies we're out but not as bad as the night before and we managed to eat dinner outside.
