Today was a big old chore day. We woke, showered and jumped on a bus to meet Shortcut for breakfast at Ernie's. Shortcut was neroing out today so it was a bit off a goodbye breakfast until I hopefully catch her up when she visits her friends in Quincy. Me and Marcus had to figure out our plan for the next stretch including desolation wilderness so we headed to the nearby coffee shop to do some planning and permit sorting. We decided we would slackpack Carson Pass to Echo Lake Chalet then stay in town another night before hiking into Desolation Wilderness from the east at Eagle Falls trailhead (4.2 miles) to meet up with the PCT half way through deso w. This reduced the 22 miles day to a 13.5 miles day which seemed much more manageable for Marcus. We then had to resupply, here we really started to find out how long it takes to do anything in this place, everything was soo far apart from each other you have to get the bus everywhere and the buses are pretty infrequent. We eventually had our resuply sorted and in was then the evening. E went for dinner at Sprouts and then walked back to the Motel passing the lakeside.
