There was a sketchy snowy traverse in the next section that has been described as a bit of a death trap as if you fall you'll fall down into a canyon, with Marcus not having any traction or an ice axe we decided it would be sensible to do the detour around this section and hike through the valley instead. The valley was nice and as we descended there was less snow. We got very wet feet though as we had to walk through a big marsh and lots of rivers. Eventually we found a dirt track that would lead us back to the PCT and the walking got much easier. We played 20 questions and 'is it more like x or y' as we walked. We took a lunch break by a nice river and some rocks after we were back on the PCT. Marcus dunked himself in the river and we sunbathed on the rocks. We hiked on up past The Nipple and then down to Lost Lake West. We found a stunning camp spot right down by the edge of the lake, with the sun shining and a camp fire stone ring already there set up. We ate dinner, got a little high and had a campfire - perfect way to end the day.
