We packed up early and got on trail by 7am. It was a cold and cloudy morning and the wind was still around. Started hiking in my puffy for the first time. Hiked and chatted with Andrew for the morning, passing other hikers including Elemor, Tituoan and Jim saying hello. Tituoans tent has collapsed twice in the night due to the wind. We eventually swapped puffies for raincoats and the fog turned to drizzle and my hands started to get a bit chilly. We made good time hiking in the cold and by 9:40 we were at the 100mile marker. We just had a mile after that until a big group of us got a lift into Montezuma Valley Market to result in food and warm up a bit. When i thought it would be hot I was planning on showering here but it cost 20$ and I knew I would be freezing in the little shower shack so the shower will have to wait another 3 days till Idyllwild. We headed back to trail just after 12 and we're planning on going another 8 miles to just outside Warner Springs. The next section of the trail felt like being back in the UK, hiking through green meadows, rolling hills scattered with cows. The odd cactus kept appearing to telling us it was intact still the desert. It was very exposed and windy but my feet had started to dry a little from the mornings rain. We passed eagle rock which was very impressive and then just had a short few miles left. A MVM we meet another Brit called Abigail and 2 Americans Sophie and Sam, We we're pretty much walking with them for the afternoon and all pitched up in the same huge campsite by a river. Me, Abigail and Sophie walked down to the Warner Springs community centre to fill water as the stream was a bit murky and then headed back to chill with the others. Eleanor and Tituoan were there too when we got back. We ate and early dinner and we're in our tents by 7 as it was super chilly out.
