Today was out on trail Sierra nero, all we had to do was hike the 5 miles to near the ranger station camp spot near Forester Pass, we chose not to go all the way to the base of the pass as it is exposed and above the tree line and it was forecast storms later. Each day manages to be more beautiful but I think today topped it again, it's an indescribable feeling hiking out in these snowy mountains with no-one else around, it felt like we were on some kind of expedition. We had smiles plastered on our faces the whole time, walking through fields on snow surrounded by snowy peaks as the sun rose, knowing that we were just some of the lucky few to experience this landscape like this. We felt soo happy with our decision to not flip and miss the snowy Sierra. We had two river crossings today, Wright Creek a mile into our hike in the dark and then Tyndall Creek near where we were camping, luckily for us both still had strong snow bridges so we didn't have to get wet or face raging water. We camped up in the trees for shelter and then sat out in the sun and played DnD fir a couple if hours until it started to snow at 12:30 and we retreated into our tents to wait it out. Luckily IT only snowed and rained a little lightly and it was over by 2pm so w/e we're able too east dinner outside again in the sun and played a little more DnD before 4:30 rolled around and w/e headed back to or tents for our bedtime routine.
