Today I needed to sort out my food, practice packing my bag and send on my Atom Pack/swapped out gear up trail. Sorting out the food was pretty stressful, I had dialled in the amounts of food to pack for the desert but packing food for the Sierra is a different ball game, we will be burning soo many calories but also have to carry 10 days of food so finding the balance is key. Test packing my bag was also pretty stressful to be honest, trying to fit everything in was a challenge and it was incredibly heavy coming in at 21.3kg including my mountaineering boots, ice axe, crampons and a litre of water (20.4kg without the boots). Hoping that once we are on the snow, wearing more/the heavier clothing, boots/crampons ect it will be a bit lighter but nevertheless tomorrow is going to be a hard 21 miles. I had to set back up my tent after test packing my bag so I am hoping I can pack my back a bit better second time around in the morning
