We had a little lie in this morning, I had slept well due to being so exhausted yesterday. As we were packing up our tents at 6am trail angel Old Yellar came over to tell us he was coming up a hikers breakfast complete with coffee and fruit - we couldn't say no. I didn't set off until 7 and was dreading the heat of the day already. After an initial climb we had almost 7 miles of descent and the views where phenomenal, I truly felt like I was in a big American National Park. The more we descended the more we got back to desert and the heat rose. There was a water cache at the bottom where we filled up for a 15 mile carry to the next cache where we were planning on camping. We and a couple of climbs to do in the heat of the day and it was another challenging day. I took short breaks to hide in the shade where I could find it, under bushes, rocks or Joshua trees. Me and Ghost took an hour off for lunch in the shade of a Joshua tree before bracing ourselves for the next hot climb. With just 5 miles remaining like yesterday some clouds rolled in with some thunder and lightning but no rain this time. I enjoyed the cooler last few miles with cold cover and arrived at camp shortly after 4. There was loads of water at the cache and the trail Angel was there filling it up and gave us some fizzy drinks. He also filled up boxes of power banks that we could use to charge our devices which was soo nice as we were on a long stretch to Kennedy meadows with no charging. We had dinner and watched the most amazing sunset and then I got into bed wanting to get an early start tomorrow to beat some of the sun.
