The views today were something else. As the sun rose I could see the impressive jagged mountains above me that I would pass around this morning. I looked back over where I had come from and for a second I caught glimpse of a flame and what looked like smoke, what I would find out later was a new wildfire and the trail behind me would close. I went through a section of crazy blowdowns, the most I had seen in a morning and past Bootscoot and Gorillas tent around 7, they must have arrived super late last night so no wonder they were having a lie in. I stopped at the next lake for breakfast and I saw Caleb (Porkie) hiking south 31 miles back from Ollalie Lake looking for Ranger (Jonny)! I caught amazing views of Mt Jefferson and entered Mt Jefferson Park after crossing a few rivers. It started to rain s bit and then out of nowhere it hailed huge pellets of ice. Thankfully it stopped after 20 or so mins. PCT hikers are not allowed to camp in this section so I needed to make it over the next ascent to camp. I was tired when i rocked up to camp but now has views of Mt Hood. I tried to get to sleep quickly as tomorrow I planned to do my 40 mile challenge.
