I make me and Rachel pancakes for breakfast and then call Marcus for another chat. We talk things through a bit more but it's still a lot to think about. I sort out the rest of my food and box it all up. I also wash my backpack bum bag and repair my coat, and bum bag. I shower and do laundry and pack everything up. Rachel kindly drives me to the post office to send my boxes and then I walk over to the market of choice to pack out a tasty dinner and find a hitch to the edge of town. I catch another ride to sisters, and then another Santiam pass, I arrived back at Trail just after six so I just do a few miles up the hill. As I'm setting up my tent, I hear someone calling my name and turn around to see Bootscoot's head pop out of the bushes. Her and Gorilla have been sat just above Trail, picking blueberries, huckleberries for the last hour. I take my dinner up there and sit with him and catch up until it starts to get dark. They still have to hike to the next water source before camping, so we say goodbye.
