I just had a short 10 miles to get into shelter Cove so I left early hoping to be there in time to shower and do my laundry before ghost arrived. It was relatively flat so I made good time and arrived just before 8:30. I got my laundry in straight away and then had a measly three minute shower, despite not having many vegan things on the menu the chef he was very friendly, cooked me up some hashbrowns with vegetables which I enjoyed whilst waiting for my clothes to dry. There are lots of hikers a shelter Cove, some making their way to Trail days like me and others, discussing what they were going to do about the smoke in the upcoming section  many people were choosing to skip after had to bend to avoid the smoke which was currently deemed at a dangerous level. Although the PCT wasn't close they're fires all around it, and the wind direction in the air quality was really bad. Ghost message to say he was delayed with traffic so I had a few hours to kill I called Mum and Emma as Mum was up in Edinburgh, and we FaceTimed for an hour. Ghost arrived after lunch. It was really nice to see him after so long and congratulate him on beating the FKT for the unsupported Washington section. Our next stop was Bend to pick up both Yeehaw and shortcut. Shortcut had got a ride to bend from fish lake and had spent the night at her friends house who is au pairing there. It was so so nuce seeing them both and catching up on all our stories and the car journey flew by despite being hours long, us all chatting and laughing. We didnt arrive until early evening, we set up our temts in the hiker area and managed to fin Beer Slides tent amongst them all and decided we would prank him my moving it right into the middle of ours. We then headed to the Brewery where there was live music and where everyone was. We kept bumping into so many people we knew and hadnt seen in so long and had a fun evening dancing, drinking and catching up. Staying up way too late and getting jnto fits of laughter when a drunk Slide couldnt find his tent in the dark.
