Day 13

Miles Hiked: 16.7
Miles: 14.7 + 2 miles to get water
Total Trail Miles: 166.5
Ascent/Descent: 3106/1963 ft
Start Time: 09:40
End Time: 17:40
Temperature: 10°C (50)

We had a relaxed start to the morning as had arranged Trail Angel Janine to pick us up at 9. SO WE PACKED UP the cabin and get coffee and breakfast at the coffee shop. We bumped into Sassy and Conor at the trail head briefly and they caught a ride with Janine back to Idyllwild. We set off around 9:40 with heavy packs full of food but fresh legs from town. It was a windy day with 25-35mph winds and gusts up to 60 but the air temperature felt good for the ascent. We had to go off trail for 2 miles to fill up on water as it was the last source before the snow. Then our packs felt really heavy with the extra 4 litres of water. We had to walk over some small patches of snow and hurdle/climb over/under a lot of fallen trees. Despite the hardships we had a good time chatting a and laughing (me, Elanor, Tito and Andrew) we met Devon at mile 166.5 and decided we would camp all together there. With the high winds putting up tents would be a nightmare too we decided to all cowboy camp together in a cuddle puddle for warmth. We were in bed by 7:30
