My Shin felt good in the morning, so taking a break in Ashland seem like the right decision. The morning was spent all in trees. So the views were particularly great there a lot of falling trees and branches dead and broken on the ground. It started to warm up soon as the Sun started to come up. It was going to be another hot day. It was pretty long 8 to 10 mile stretches between water which seem to be the norm for this area as the views were lacking try to make it to a reservoir for lunch just a short detour off the Trail. However the main entrance was closed due to roadworks so I heighten another mile to get to the open campground down by the water. It wasn't a great spot for a swim, but I ate lunch on a picnic table looking out over the reservoir and there was a toilet in the water and bin. I planned to hike just another six or 7 miles to get to the next lake where there was a campground again just half a mile of Trail . It turned out they were to campgrounds at the next lake. The first was busy and rowdy, so I hiked onto the next. This one, Klum campground, was deserted. There was just one of the tent set up, a bikepacker. but there was running water even a free shower, so I made most of the amenities took a shower, and by the time I set up camp another hiker had arrived. I've got an early night wanting to wake up early the next day to beat the oncoming heatwave.
