Day 7

Miles Hiked: 18.3
N 33.272880° W 116.645103°
Mile 91.2 (Third Gate Cache) to Mile 109.5 (Warner Springs)

  • Trail Conditions: Still very hot. A mix of cactus flowers and lots of cow pasture. Nearly ran out of water between the Third Gate cache (3L limit) and the next water source ten miles later, which turned out to be a really nice spring-fed pump and trough. Rested there for a bit before continuing last Eagle Rock into Warner Springs.
  • Campsite: Made it to Warner Springs earlier than anticipated, so I'm back in Yucaipa eating burritos. 😎
  • People: Passed a large tramily of early college-age hikers. Some very confident hiking bros are out trying to give everyone advice. Kept passing and being passed by a pair of older women and two (ex-military?) guys, one of whom had hiked the PCT three times already.
  • Tomorrow: Taking a zero day to try to heal this blister. If it doesn't resolve, I'll lance it and just glue it back together with betoin tincture.
