Day 33
Miles Hiked: 0
Mile 475.8 to Mile 498.2 (Sawmill Camp)
Last night I discovered that my small water bottle (the one that goes in the shoulder pocket) had started growing stuff, so after I dried my tent out (humidity spiked to 70% overnight), I hiked 3 round-trip bonus miles to a gas station in Green Valley for a replacement. On the upside, I did also get a brunch combo of an egg salad sandwich, blueberry pastry, bottled smoothie, and iced coffee lol. On the downside, it added about two hours of non-trail time. It was kind of a slog through fields of poodle bush, high winds, and eroded trail. Maintenance crews have clearly been at work in some sections; there's just a lot of damage. I haven't seen any other hikers today, and the trail registries show that most of the people I saw at the Oasis are a day ahead of me. Even at the Sawmill Camp, I'm the only one here. Tomorrow, I'll get to Hikertown, do some bucket laundry, and hopefully catch up with other hikers.
