Day 24

Miles Hiked: 0
Mile 314.3 to Mile 328.7

  • Trail: After a free coffee from the Joshua Inn, Stacy and I got a ride back to the trail from Alan. He's probably in his late 60s or early 70s and has built a magnificent catio for his trailer behind the bar. The trail passed by another dam, which was cool, but otherwise it was a mix of road walks and passing by houses before reaching Silverwood Lake Recreation Area.
  • Campsite: A spot at the "hike and bike" area of the campground, way way way in the back. It isn't by the lake, but I can see it through the bushes. I thought about going down to the beach, but it's a long walk and too windy to swim anyways. After bribing the delivery driver with the promise of an extra cash tip, I was able to successfully Uber Eats some birria tacos.
  • People: Camped near the same folks from yesterday.
  • Tomorrow: About 13 trail miles (+ 1.5 bonus miles to get out of the campground) to Cajon Pass. I probably will not get there in time for breakfast because I would have to be up and hiking too early.
